Terry was born sickly, hairless, and with a weak constitution, and thus his frantic mother, fearing losing another child, never left his side for his whole childhood, working tirelessly to monitor his health, fetch him the healthiest plants, and treat him with herbal remedies and druidic Nature magic. Most of the clan aided him with his recovery and kept him company as well, and fortunately Terry was able to overcome his sickness and grow into a fine young tundra with a glittering dark coat. Although his childhood illness has left him physically weak and his constitution is too fragile for him to travel far, he is determined never again to succumb to disease, as well as to prove that being a tundra doesn't make him dumb and he can be every bit as smart as any other dragon. Terry has always been proud of the circuit patterns he and his sisters possess, and very curious about those markings. He noticed that they rather resembled the electrical wires that the Lightning-born inventor Sally used in her work and to provide the lair's non-magical lighting, and took an interest in her strange devices and gizmos. This interest was further fueled by an admiration for Sally herself--how she built such unusual devices of metal and wires, how she too had overcome serious health complications, how she was always so cheerful while she worked even when her inventions exploded in her face. Terry hopes to try his hand at engineering and inventing himself, contemplating the possibilities of combining the wiring, gears, and metal plates used by Lightning engineers with his own innate Arcane magic. His greatest ambition is to create some kind of a magical, artificially intelligent golem that can commune remotely with the Arcanist (though he'll settle for one that can commune remotely with faraway dragon lairs). |
