As the clan’s teacher, Rei is a polite and well-learned. He is a passionate teacher, and helps his students learn any way he can. He strives to instill the knowledge and problem-solving skills into his pupils’ minds, but sometimes he spoils them and helps them to the point of taking over and doing the work himself. Most of the clan has been educated in reading, writing, and basic arithmetic by Rei, and he has a few ongoing advanced students.
Inside and outside of the classroom his mysterious, eccentric personality draws others to him. He does not mind hosting small groups for dinner, and regularly invites his students over to share a meal. On his off hours, he enjoys conducting private research about the various plant life in the Shadow territory. He seeks to one day publish his work in a prominent Shadow academy’s academic journal. His extensive knowledge of many subjects is a great help around his clan, making him a powerful asset. A patient dragon, he almost always has a calm smile on his face. Even in disputes, he tries to find a positive compromise for both sides. This skill has given him the informal title of clan mediator, and when he is not teaching his class he is helping out around the clan, settling arguments and helping others in their daily tasks. Alongside his continual study of the flora in the Shadowlands, Rei enjoys to read and review poetry. The newest collection of poetry routinely ships to his clan every new moon from his old academy. He spends some time every night until the next new moon reading and reviewing the collection, and when the next edition comes he sends the reviews back with the courier. Rei has attempted to write his own poetry to no avail, for he does not have a silver tongue. |
