Mate = Seraphim, The Deck Holder
"Who are you?" the little fox inquired with the tilted head of curious creatures.
"Yokai," the beast replied as he transformed from a small squirrel to a terrifying bear. "Demon. Shifting beast."
The fox only seemed to have one tail, but like a magic trick, two more folded out from behind it, and two more from that. "I asked who not what."
The bear turned into one of the two-legged monsters, cackling like a quiet hyena. "I am Yokai. I am what gifted your kind with this power. You have me to thank for those tails, little kitsune." He replied verbally.
The fox laughed, which was intriguing and only replicated by silver bells caught in a pine tree, needles scratching its jingle. "Then thank you, Uncle. Shape-shifting has made my games far more fun."
"Who are you, mortal?" Yokai asked, wanting to know all his creations.
"I've been reborn as Ivan," the fox admitted, then shifted to his true form, "but my blood parents bestowed me as Loki, before I killed him to start anew."
Yokai and Loki locked hands onto forearms in a firm handshake and looked into one another's eyes. "My apologies," Yokai stated insincerely, "you are no mortal at all."
Loki smiled mischievously, holding a finger to his lips. "I wasn't. Ivan is."
