Raised on the belief that she was a born leader, when Emyr stumbled across the clan in it's messy and confused state, she felt it was only natural that she took charge. She stepped in, bringing much needed leadership and order during an important time for the clan, and they've all followed her lead since then. Others may be better suited for the task, but no one who would be good for the job wants it. That said, there are certainly others in the clan who hold more power than Emyr.
The night when wrong so quickly. Suddenly Neryn was gone, then Vivaire was too, then more as shadows from deep within the caves tore wildly through, leaving chaos in their wake. It's impossible to get a clear answer from those who saw it. Emyr hasn't been the same since. She's been retired from her position as leader, Sigte stepping up to replace her and bring back some semblance of order. Really, she's nothing now without Neryn at her side.
