Much of Almond's life can be summed up in one word: mundane. He was born to a pair of musicians, raised as a musician, and eventually, unsurprisingly, became a musician himself. Music has been his passion since he could pick up an instrument. There has never been any other great love in his life; his heart has always belonged to his violin.

Here's where things get a little murky. Almond arrived in Clan Feldspar with two young girls—his daughters, he claimed, and Dreamweaver knew that this was the truth. However, when they inquired as to the whereabouts of the girls' mother, he would say only that she had gone away, that they were no longer together. This, Dreamweaver ascertained, was also the truth—and, yet, something nagged at the back of their mind, some small, niggling doubt.

Where, exactly, had Almond's wife gone?

They never pressed him for further explanation, wondering if, perhaps, the topic was a wound that had yet to heal. They were correct in this regard, though certainly not for the reasons they believed.

With Dreamweaver's blessing, Almond and his daughters settled in the village, and he took up the position of resident jack-of-all-trades. He does a little bit of everything and works with a little bit of everyone in the village. On particularly lovely days, he goes out and performs for passersby, earning a fair bit of coin with his impeccable skill. It's safe to say that he lives quite comfortably for a retiree.

His daughters, Cheese and Pistachio, have since found homes in Feldspar's allied clans, Nebula Guild and Aphaster. He keeps tabs on them and writes whenever he can, but they have their own lives now, and he doesn't want to stifle them.
