Neiris was born of a pairing between Korron and Persuaja, blending together strong bloodlines of outsider clans. As a representation of the culmination of two valuable dragons, Neiris was viewed also as an asset from barely the point of her birth. She was assigned under the care of Indi to learn how to fight, and her childhood and young life consisted of a series of warm, happy moments. However, when she reached full adulthood and responsibility, she became almost horrified by how she wasn't viewed so much as an individual but more of a pawn. Her unhappiness with clan life reached its pinnacle when she watched her father be sent to fight for the Tidelord, and he just went without a fight. Her outrage did nothing to stop it, and she blames herself, though it wasn't her fault.

Though significantly emotionally damaged by watching her father be sent away to fight, facets of Persuaja's inquisitive nature shine through. Neiris follows in her mother's footsteps as she harbors an encompassing love of trying to uncover deeper mysteries. Neiris isn't very fond of the clan system of herself, with a rebellious edge that may deign her another dragon who will eventually leave the clan, what with her faltering faith in Jadis and the structure of the clan.
