Kunnia is his name and he takes great pride in the fact. His name, meaning honour, is how he tries to live every moment of his life. This honour which he puts so much stock in causes him to come across as ruthless and ambitious. It is the same value which fuels his disdain for rebellious young dragons, those who have no respect and decency to listen to their elders. This is likely a result from his own treatment as a young dragon and led to his estranged relationship with his only child. As a hatchling, Kunnia was never able to have a good relationship with his own father. Hiillos was not inherently bad, but he could not claim the title of good. Even before Kunnia was born his father was most interested in dead things. He could always be found doing experiments on dead creatures, regardless of how other dragons perceived his actions. After Kunnia hatched Hiillos was left alone to raise him, as Kunnia's mother was tired of the experiments. Hiillos had no time for a hatchling and made no attempt to hide that fact. His experiments went deeper as he delved into necromancy and black magic, often leaving Kunnia to fend for himself. Other dragons did not approve of the dark magic and frequently treated Hiillos and Kunnia differently due to the dark magic. Kunnia never heard a kind word from his father. It wasn't long before the clan grew tired of the nonsense and banished the pair from the clan. As his resources were dried up Hiillos became violent, often lashing out in moments of delirium. When they finally found another clan to take them in Kunnia was basically self-sufficient. Hiillos did not remain with their new clan, still intent on continuing his necromancy. Kunnia never learned how to be a good father from his own, but he did learn resourcefulness. In his new clan Kunnia found a position and a home. He worked his way up to commander of the coliseum team. Here his devote honour and high standards led to well-trained dragons. But, his prowess on the battlefield could not make up for something he never learned. He had one nest with his mate Kauneus and together they had two hatchlings. One is never spoken of, having left the world as a baby. And the other does not speak to his father. Kauneus found that she could never truly be with Kunnia. Even when they were together she felt distant from him, as though Kunnia would never allow her to be in his life completely. No matter what she tried he refused to put the effort into their relationship and eventually she left him. To Kunnia's credit he tried to teach his son, Kaamos as much as he could, particularly pertaining to fighting. But, Kaamos refused to learn, as he was uninterested. Kunnia tried to encourage interest and learning but was continuously met with resistance. Finally his tactics turned violent, much like his own father, and that was when Kaamos drew away from his father, remaining in the clan, yet not speaking to the other dragon. Subsequently, Kunnia ignored his son. To him, the offspring was a stain on his honour. No matter how hard he tried he could not replace Kaamos' white snow with his own blood red. ![]() Nutflakez - X Skelizard - X |
