Niada was found at a lonely cliff island near Saltspray Village, long before the village existed. The ones who founded the village heard the sounds of a child singing some nights, and followed them to Niada. There they found the strange siren child and a cave that led into the cliff, many tunnels twisting further and further down. The paths were lined with small springs, glowing algaes and strange bugs. This area later became the Spirit Caverns, where the villagers come to bury and honor the dead. Niada claimed only that she keeps the world's spirits company, then skipped off singing again.

The siren only appears to others as a small maren/dragon child. While she has been there for generations, no one knows her age or true ancestry. Most would claim she herself is a spirit made solid to guard the spirit's resting place. All they know for sure is she loves to sing and she's fiercely protective of the Spirit Caverns. She only has one possession: a very old rusty mirror.

The villagers of Saltspray bury their dead in Naida's spirit cavern now, and she helps the spirits pass to the next life. You can read about it >here< with some art!
