Meriathris is a large and powerful Guardian with little to no magical talents. She journeys throughout the lands surrounding the Sea of a Thousand Currents in search of weaker dragons who need someone to take them under their wing. She will gladly provide the role of mentor and protector, knowing all too well what it means to grow up being branded as too weak.

So far, she has not found a permanent Charge yet, and she suspects that will not be an easy task.

An outcast in the plague clan she was born into due to her weakness, both physically and magically, the Fae Meriathris found it difficult just to stay alive. Plague might have been the element she was aligned to, but it did not agree with her.

Oftentimes she would travel down to the Tsunami Flats to wash her wounds in the clear waters, praying to the Tidelord to soothe her pain and silently wishing for a better place to live, to thrive, but she couldn't muster the courage to leave, deadly afraid that she wouldn't manage to find enough food of her own. A pack of Mirrors led by a scarred male liked to mock her for it, commenting that her colours were ill-suited to the festering plaguelands anyway, better matching the darkness of the sea.

"Well", she replied one day, "what if it is just so? What if I'd much rather leave for the sea than stay just one more day with the likes of you?"
The Mirror growled at her. "So that's how it is. Then I'll see you drowned!" he snarled, lunging at her. She dodged, fleeing out towards the sea, wings beating as fast as they could, but the mirror quickly gained speed on her, malnourished as she was. Trying to defend herself, she launched bolts of magic at her pursuer, but she had left her element's territory and they were weaker than ever.

He overtook her easily in flight, a hit of his large wings catching her own left wing and tail, slicing membrane and breaking bones. The pain made it impossible to stay airborne and she dropped, hitting the water's surface with a shriek.
She thought she could still see his toothy grin, hundreds of metres above her, as she began to sink.

Strangely enough, the coldness of the water made the pain bearable. It was dulling, and almost comforting, and as it grew darker and darker around her, she pondered that if that was how she had to go, it was fine. As her vision faded, the last thing she could make out was a large draconic shape, approaching from below, and she smiled. Perhaps the Tidelord had come for her at last.

The first and only thing Meriathris asked for after she had fully healed was a scroll of change. Her frail Fae's form had never done her any good, and it was simply not strong enough for the purpose she had in mind.

The magic almost killed her, her determination being the only thing to pull her through. It took her a long time to accumulate almost nine tons of mass, and the sound of her bones rearranging themselves under her skin almost drove her mad, but in the end the powerful limbs and armoured fins were well worth the pain. In this form, she would be able to stand up for herself, and more importantly, for others.

There were many more out there like she used to be, that she knew for sure, and she felt a pull deep inside her chest, an urge to protect.
