Cumulus was raised within the Molten Scar for naught but a few days, if even that. He had no memory of his birth clan or any hatchling antics that he may have partaken in, though he was graced with vivid images of an enormous bonfire. He did not understand its purpose, but figured that it had been something of great importance. Regardless of how distant this memory was, he remained very fond of it.
He came to the Diamond Rooks through Effy. As she told him, his birth clan had been gifted with a handful of hatchlings all at once, which they were ill prepared for. Space was limited and they were doing their best to ensure the little dragons were being properly cared for, but it was just too much too handle. Effy was easily coerced into adopting him. She wasn't much equipped for taking care of hatchlings herself, though she had no doubt that the tiny spiral would be easily taken to within her clan.
And she was correct, of course. Nebula had no qualms in raising him among the rest of the current Diamond Rook hatchlings. During this time, he developed his passion for the sky. Nebula was an extraordinary looking snapper, and she regarded the stars in the night sky with such respect that one might think she had been born of stardust herself. She also often referred to Cumulus as her "little cloud", and it enraptured his imagination. As he continued to develop into his own being, his love of weaving through the clouds conquered him. He studied the atmosphere in great detail and learned its patterns, using this to help predict the oncoming weather. His knowledge greatly aided the clan in determining the best times for hunting and exploring, and he was well received by everyone

- Cumulus is currently attempting to befriend Mocco and Cantata. The bogsneak breed rather fascinates him, but he is also deeply curious as to why anyone would not want to remain a spiral. It greatly confuses him.
