Wisps and willow
love so mellow

Her mother was a dragon of the garden. She was the queen, her daughter the princess. They lived in a glasshouse. She grew with the orchids. The corsage their crown. She lived in a dream. The beautiful glasshouse. In an endless desert.

A stranger by the door. On the other side. Can you hear me? he called. Are you there? he cried. I've been searching for you. he sighed.

That is your father. said the goddess. Go to him.

She was hesitant, afraid, but her mother smiled gently at her. For the first time, she stepped on sand.

The crown passed in sucession.




She can see the veins of life that paint dark stripes across salt and stone. She can follow them with her fingertips.

Jadevine, star moss, stonespine, bulrush,

The other dragons follow long, follow along, going strong.

Lantana, cinnamon, rotala, almonds,

Three day's find for twelve day's feast.
Round the fertile ash she leads.
More life sowed than what she reaps.
