Yam has always struggled with fitting in. His shy nature, poor memory, and disinterest in history makes him an odd fit in a clan full of scholars and researchers. He stays however, for they are the closest thing to a family that he's ever known.

He was found at a young age, hopelessly lost and wandering the expanse of dragonhome, by the clans hunting party. He imprinted rather quickly onto Gwyn, despite their protests, and forced his way into their group- after all, its pretty hard to say no to a baby tundra who's decided you're their new caretaker.

The hunting party, consisting of Gwyn, the clan's expert marksman and dabbler in nature magic, as well as Mei, the clan's melee fighter, and Azreal, Mei's mother and holy warrior, struggled for a while to care for such a small dragon. Life on the road, and especially the life of a hunting party, is far from glamorous. Food wasn't always easy to come by, and babies make for poor hunting partners- being better at scaring away prey than stealthily sneaking up on them.

Due to this, they elected to cut the hunting trip short, and return home with their newest member. When Gwyn tried to set back out, however, they found that their new friend did not wish for them to leave- and they made the difficult choice to retire from hunting, for the time being, to stay and raise him. Under Gwyn's teachings, Yam grew up with an extreme fondness for nature magic. Excelling at plant growth spells, as well as caring for animals, Yam grew up to become the clans farmer. He lives with Gwyn, on the far outskirts of town, in a small, cozy cave, stocked to the brim with every type of jam, honey, and dried herbs you can imagine. Together they grow an unnaturally abundant crop of plants, and raise several animals.

Yam may struggle with fitting in with the rest of the clan, but hes made a home for himself with Gwyn, and has found his niche. He may not make the next big breakthrough in the clans intellectual pursuits, but he's found family, which is all anyone really needs.

_FEATURES_

____Beast Speech - You gain the ability to converse with beasts. Beasts can understand your speech, and you gain the ability to decipher their noises and motions into recognizable words and phrases. Most beasts lack the intelligence to convey or understand sophisticated concepts, but a friendly beast could relay what it has seen or heard in the recent past.

____Wild Shape - you can use your action to magically assume the shape of a beast that you have seen before. You can use this feature twice. You regain expended uses when you finish a short or long rest. You can transform into any beast that has a challenge rating of 1 or lower. You can stay in a beast shape for a number of hours equal to half your druid level (rounded down). You then revert to your normal form unless you expend another use of this feature. You can revert to your normal form earlier by using a bonus action on your turn. You automatically revert if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, or die.

_SPELLS_

____Locate Animals Or Plants - Describe or name a specific kind of beast or plant. Concentrating on the voice of nature in your surroundings, you learn the direction and distance to the closest creature or plant of that kind within 5 miles, if any are present.

____Plant Growth - This spell channels vitality into plants within a specific area. There are two possible uses for the spell, granting either immediate or long-term benefits. If you cast this spell using 1 action, choose a point within range. All normal plants in a 100-foot radius centered on that point become thick and overgrown. If you cast this spell over 8 hours, you enrich the land. All plants in a half-mile radius centered on a point within range become enriched for 1 year. The plants yield twice the normal amount of food when harvested.

____Commune With Nature - You briefly become one with nature and gain knowledge of up to three facts about the surrounding territory.
