The turner of tides comes at last
On velvet wings; She shall ascend the throne of power Leaving the slain in her wake For she was born with nothing; And so from nothing will a new age come to pass QuenchBlue was born completely alone, no loving parents, no hatchery nurse, no one at all. Her first memories were of fear, and isolation, she remembered the tangled woods being a place of horror, where everything was set to kill any lone hatchling. But she persevered until one day she happened upon the Kingdom. That's where she met him, him being the smallest, ugliest fae to possibly ever exist. And she had told him so, that he was hideous, and for him to leave her alone or else. He had simply laughed at her, someone far away called, "PlumDandy," and his frills shook a bit in recognition. But he didn't leave, he stared at her, and explained that he was a servant serving under the King. Finally a looming shadow came into view, a great dragon who looked ready to kill PlumDandy, but paused when she saw QuenchBlue. And just like that she found a job, and with it, a family. The great dragon and the ugly fae took her under their wing. She became a servant under the Kingdom, it was backbreakingly hard work, but she got two meals a day, shelter, and a family. But with it she saw horrors that almost made her wish for the lonely woods again. She saw others out of work, starving, soldiers going to war without a single chance and dying. She saw the lazy, petty King and she saw what he was letting happen to his Kingdom. It was here where she first heard the Prophecy The turner of tides comes at last On velvet wings; She shall ascend the throne of power Leaving the slain in her wake For she was born with nothing; And so from nothing will a new age come to pass The Prophecy changed her whole life, she was only a month into her life, but she knew this Prophecy was going to save her, save her family, the Kingdom. It had to. And it was going to, but nothing is black and white, especially Prophecies She worked that way for years, living on the promise of this Prophecy, hoping and waiting. She had barely noticed the red skydancer swindling her way through the ranks, QuenchBlue missed her until it was too late. Overnight her entire life changed, and not for the better. Just like that everything she once knew was gone, the King was dead, the skydancer BloodGarnet was queen, her family risked being fired, and her hope was shattered. The Prophecy she had counted on, that had carried her for so long was her and her Kingdoms downfall. their undoing. The new Queen ruled with an iron fist, using violence and harsh methods to keep her power. She raised up dragons loyal to her and executed those who weren't. Dragons were still unemployed and starving, but the armies were no longer fodder. In a few short months their army was anew, a force to be reckoned with. Just when it seemed that all hope was lost, the ProphetCurio foretold his new Prophecy She had a new hope, that someone would be able to overthrow the evil queen, to save them Kingdom. It was several days before the repercussions of the Prophecy came to light. The Prophecy foretold that only a dragon without hatchlings could save them, and the Queen would never allow that to happen. Every dragon was decreed to have hatchlings, no exceptions. A sense of hopelessness and horror filled her ribs, she almost couldn't believe the Queen could do this, or that QueenBloodGarnet could enforce it. But anyone who stood up to her, who refused was swiftly and violently executed. QuenchBlue had no choice, so of course she turned to her best friend PlumDandy, and they had four hatchlings. Each one was taken from them and exalted without hesitation. It didn't matter how QuenchBlue fought to keep them, she didn't stand a chance. But in her she still held hope, it was small, and fragile but it beat inside her heart and she refused to let it go. But she couldn't stand the suffering, the heartbreak of watching every dragon in the Kingdom lose their hatchlings to the armies or being exalted. When whispers reached her of a small band of rebels her heart leaped. Everyday was getting harder and harder for her to stay silent, to keep her head down and do her work, and one day she had enough. With PlumDandy at her side they fled the Kingdom and met and the large, fortified farm where an unusual imperial offered them room and a weapon. The rebel band was small, but full of the fiercest dragons QuenchBlue had ever met. She was going to take down QueenBloodGarnet no matter what. Prophecies can eat ****, this was her battle and she was going to win. |
