Shy as a common shellbug, Abraham is a nest tender and hardly ever leaves the main lair. He hides from visitors and even, sometimes, clan mates he's grown up with! In fact the only time he's spotted by his clan mates is when he's fetching food, cleaning supplies and nest materials for the nest mothers. Spotting Abraham has become a sort of game among the younger hatchlings.

The nest mothers seem to have a fondness for Abraham, bringing him his favorite *fish/insect/food* when they first begin nesting and good-naturedly teasing him when he makes his rounds of the nests. Abraham is very quiet and speculation runs through the hatchlings on if he is mute or not. He most assuredly is not, he just prefers to keep his own council, watching and listening. He hates confrontations and will react in one of two ways, scampering away to his nearest hidey-hole, or freezing in fear until the tirade is over.

Abraham never misses a hatching. He seems to have a second sense for the timing of that sort of event. He will often wake from a dead sleep when a hatching starts, sometimes before the mother even knows what is happening herself!
