A proud warrior, Barnabas chose the Weyr's matriarch, Mist, as his ward. He stays at her side unless commanded elsewhere, standing tall and imposing over his small, fluffy matriarch.

He came to the Weyr as a small hatchling to be the envoy to a sister Weyr in the lands of Water, part of an exchange where the leaders of both Weyrs send one of their little ones to serve the other. The moment his young blue eyes saw his adoptive second mother, he knew he was home.
