Taranath lost her clan in a battle.

Growing up, Taranath was always very happy. Her light clan was peaceful, food was plentiful, and life was mostly without worries. However, a rivaling fire clan that was nearby was always the opposite. They constantly heard of battles for power and tension in the clan. Every so often, the two clans would butt heads due to their proximity. The fire clan wanted more territory, and the light clan wanted more peace. The situation was manageable and remained unresolved for a long while. Eventually, sparse interactions turned into radio silence. They had heard nothing from the fire clan for many months.

By then, Taranath had grown up. She was like any other member of her clan: dedicated, hard working, and part of a family. Some dragons were suspicious of the fire clan's sudden disappearance, but Taranath and the majority of the clan were simply relieved to have the cloud no longer hanging above their heads.

One day, the morning went by as normally as any other. Dragons were hunting, nesting, and going about their peaceful lives. But in a single instant, everything had changed. The terrible battle cry of the fire clan's leader rang out above the clearing, and an army of fire dragons stormed the clan grounds before anyone could react.

While this was happening, Taranath was a little ways away gathering food. Prickles ran up her spine when she heard the cry. She ran back towards the clan, but she was tackled to the ground by a merciless wildclaw. They fought tooth and nail for a while, but the wildclaw had the upper hand. She tried to flee, but it wasn't long before the other caught up and took her back down. She received such horrible burns that eventually, she couldn't fight anymore. She collapsed, nearly dead, and the wildclaw left to pick off other stragglers.

When Taranath awoke, she was greeted by Helaku, who had rescued her after finding her in the forest. They would eventually form an inseparable bond and build the Clan of New Beginnings together.

Taranath is a lawful dragon with a kind heart. She is in charge of keeping order in the clan and making sure that nobody breaks the rules. To many of the younger dragons, she is almost like a mother. She is affectionate to those she cares about and is always concerned with the safety of her clan. She is highly respected among the clan, and it is difficult for anyone to say a single negative thing about her.

She has PTSD from the clan attack and has an extremely hard time leaving the clan grounds. She is also aro/ace.
