______ Schatten arrived to the clan after being cast out of her birth clan when she was still young. The reason she had been cast out to die in the Tangled Wood was simple, though cruel: Schatten was born blind. Instead of dying in the Woods of the Shadowbinder, Schatten instead followed her intuition and her heightened senses of hearing and touch, eventually arriving to Umbral Rex. It was in Shizen's clan she found a home, and she has remained ever since.

______ She may not be able to see, but her hearing is nothing to try skirting around. Schatten can hear even the slightest differences in sound, including others' tone of voice. Her hearing allows her to pick out a liar in a crowd, and woe to the dragon who lies to her.

______ Her lack of sight has also prompted the clan healers and researchers to look into ways to restore Schatten's vision. However, she refuses every attempt. She has known only darkness her whole life, and in the dark she intends to stay.

______ Schatten is a Shadow Imperial, after all. A Child of the Shadowbinder, and she would rather die than leave the Shadows she was born into.
