You've heard many tales of your father. Some where he is the hero, and some where he is the villain. But the story you've heard the most are his brave deeds in battle, and his strength and courage. you know he's been through a lot to make sure his clan is well. He's fought for it, gave it its territory, and led the dragons. He's taken care of the weak, helped train his brethren, and gave advice to brothers. Your father helped the clan through woods of shadow to the tangled undergrowth of nature. And through this, he was helped by your mother. Brave and strong like your father, and always doing what is best. Advising your father during bad times, and helped by him as well. You've longed to follow in their footsteps of bravery. But what's this? Your brother has been chosen? No. You deny that you have been shunned by your own father. And why? Because of your color. You have fought your brother to regain your rightful place, but what has been chosen cannot be unchosen. However, there is hope! Your mother believes in you, and you hope to be as strong as she wants you to be, and prove you are better than your brother. And now you go and seek wisdom and strength, through dark or light, to be the one you've always wanted to be.
Your parents suddenly leave you to lead the clan with your brother. You both know you might end up fighting over dominance. You ask your brother if he wants to split the power. He thinks for a minute, and then speaks.
"Sunset, that sounds like a great idea. But it is obvious that our parents left the clan to me."
Outrageous, you declare. You say that our parents would never leave it to one dragon. After all, Bloodfang never hoarded power.
Nightclaw spoke. "That makes sense, brother. How ignorant of me to forget our father's ways. How about Greyspike? Will she also share power?"
You think for a minute, and respond. You tell him why not? Greyspike was our sister, and she would be Queen.
"Then it is settled. This clan will be ruled by us, descendants of Bloodfang and Crimsonscale, and forever be entitled to our name."
Soon enough, the clan obeys your every command. You are Nightclaw's right-claw dragon. He rules with his iron fist, but you are more lenient with it. Greyspike takes care of the young and helps tend to den mothers. You feel great responsibility on your wings, but balanced among your siblings. You are satisfied.
