BIOGRAPHY

Peregrine fell out of his nest, and his right shoulder was damaged badly by the impact. Though this hatchling injury has since healed, Peregrine still struggles with movement on his right front side. He can often be seen biting at his claws as if testing the feeling in them. He limps badly and favors his left side when walking, though his wings seem to work just fine.

Peregrine doesn't say much. Rather, he prefers to let his emotions speak for him, and freely provides all around him with access to his thoughts and feelings via the antennae on his head.

When Beryl approached him with her ambitions, Peregrine balked. What did her plan actually entail? He was shy and not the proper material for leading the clan. He refused to have anything to do with it, sensing that Beryl wanted to use him.

It turned out that wasn't too far from the truth.

Beryl expressed a desire to have children with a dragon of her own race. Peregrine, moved, accepted her proposal. Their mating was incredibly rough, and Peregrine was hurt by Beryl's aggressive methods. He became more like his Ice flight heritage would have him be; cold and withdrawn. No dragon could tell what he was thinking anymore.

Too depressed by what had happened to care for the nest, Peregrine withdrew to his lair and refused to come out again.

After a time, Periphae came to sense that Peregrine would do well in Gwenyth's clan. She approached the Skydancer with the idea, but he completely shut her out. So for Peregrine's own good, she exiled him from her clan to the Clan of the Wandering.

Time with Lutia was good for Peregrine. He got to be himself around her, fall in love, and feel validated. But inside, he still felt broken. He never forgot Beryl's cruelty, and he was ever aware that his disability made it hard for him to keep up with his energetic, athletic lover. With much pain in his heart, he returned to his original home once more. Different colors and patterns adorned his hide, and Periphae barely recognized him, even with her future sight. But she welcomed him back with open arms. After all, the clan had changed much since he had left.

Peregrine was immediately intrigued by the dashing young Nocturne, Delver, and his assistant Tirtha, who spent most of their time in the tunnels they were digging, safely underneath the warm sunshine of the Gladekeeper's domain. When the sun was hot, Peregrine would help his friends by fetching drinks and food and keeping notes, scribbling down all of Delver's notes that he spat out at the speed of sound while he worked.

Peregrine was happy to be of use, to find somewhere he belonged. And while he missed Lutia, he hoped to write to her often, that they might not fully lose the spark of love they'd once had.
