To boldly go where no dragon has gone before. |
Off to See the World!
Uh-oh, looks like this old gal wandered a little too far from her home lair (260252, nuttysaladtree), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the Dragons Off To See The World thread. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!Lairs Visited:

Hatchlinghood
"My first stop was the Sunbeam Ruins. While crossing the Carrion Canyon, I bumped into a witty young Imperial. I won’t tell you her name, but behind a sharp tongue lay the wisdom and kindness and generosity of an angel. Volunteered to be my guide, even though she hadn't left the Beacon since her clan had moved in. We wandered through the Sundial Terrance, the Hewn City, and the Promenade before returning to the Beacon. Under the sunlight, we talked about our homelands. We saw much on our travels that surprised and delighted us. As my journey wound down, she proposed. First came a wave of shock - she had not come out to me before that - before a tsunami of guilt came roaring in. I knew I couldn't answer her. My wanderlust wanted me to say no. Her glowing golden eyes wanted me to say yes." The Guardian is still smiling, melancholy silently replacing joy. "She understood what I thought through my silence and kissed me goodbye. I gave her my blessings and set off for the Sea of a Thousand Currents. |
Parenthood
"I rushed to the Ashfall Wasteland to escape my heartbreak from the news of her untimely death. To no avail - the heat reminded me of her warmth as we lay side-by-side, stargazing; the embers, the spark and life in her eyes I missed so, so much. That’s when I met Trydan, another grieving Guardian. His old grandma had exalted herself to serve the great Stormcatcher until the end of time. His lover, a fierce Mirror, had left him for someone else. In the heat of the lava, we soothed each other’s pain. He followed me to the Windswept Plateau. "The wind dragons showered us with their hospitality - their 'party animal' reputation is well-earned." Her eyes sparkle with mirth. "Life there was like a honeymoon vacation. After a few days of staying in the Cloudsong, we return from cloud nine and think about settling down, maybe for now, maybe forever. Upon our return to the Shifting Expanse, I lay three eggs there. In the blink of an eye, three eggs became three hatchlings became three young dragons. Last I heard, the younger two are off to see the world. Trinity, my eldest, decided to stay in the Shifting Expanse for the rest of her life. Thunderstorm and Rosemary have accepted her into their clan, and she's happy there. Typical Lightning." She shakes her head, amused. "Trydan and I have no idea where she got that from. Certainly not from us, two black sheep of the Flight. |
Retirement
"I did pay the Dragonhome a visit, to see the pillar of the world, mourning the long-lost peace between flights. Alone again, I mourned long-lost love between Trydan and me. I'm quite sad I can't tell you anything more interesting about the place...what about the Tangled Woods, you say?" Eyes widening, she vigorously shakes her head. "I would be glad if I never had to think about the Scarred Wasteland, ever! I almost lost my life there, and the landscape is…horrifying." Hexadecimal gulps before smiling again. "Tyrian, the matriarch, let me in, and our clan moved from Starfall Isles to the Viridian Labyrinth. I think I’ll settle down now, maybe for now, maybe forever. I honestly don’t know. I’ve seen enough of the world for now, and I'd be satisfied swapping stories with fellow explorers. "Oh my, it’s grown quite late now. I can always tell you more another day. Come, friend, I’ll walk you out." |
Shrieking Wilds
"Having kids, to me, had always came after love, and it was not a necessity. But these dragons loved their deity so much they'd make sure to bring as many dragons into the world and train them until they were just strong enough to help her. Well, the ones that had it in them, of course. And even if some pairings didn't love one another romanticaly, they were free to love who they wanted and eveyone respected one another as a family. They didn't ask me to do it, but since they promised they'd respect the child's desire if they didn't want to partake in the tradition, I decided to join into them." "Yet there was one last detail that picked my interest and made me extend my stay. Every dragon of the family wanted to achieve all of their potential, so they were making an effort to train each and everyone of their own..." you could see a smile creeping on her face "But the funny thing? Even though the trainer was so overworked with everyone that was already on the family, her face just lit up when I showed interest in training. How could I say no when she offered so enthusiastically if I wanted to train as well?" |
