Drought was born in the frigid cold of the southern ice fields, but if asked if he had ever seen snow or ice, he would answer no, and as far as he is concerned that is the truth. Taken from the nest within the hour of his hatching and whisked away his eyes barely open and carried across the world to what would be his home in the Sandswept Delta, never knowing so much as the name of his siblings, and never wondering enough to ask. Growing up in the ruins of ancient monuments, playing in tombs of kings while sand storms raged outside, Drought never wanted or missed the family of his birth, preferring his childhood family of lawless desert wanderers to the lives of other hatchlings. Such and upbringing has turned him in to a true desert creature despite of the color of his eyes, cunning and ruthless in equal measures, Drought has the mind of a snake, clever and flexible, adaptable against all odds, and primordially reptilian in nature. However, even the coldest of serpents must warm to something, and for Drought his love will always be the paintings and scrolls he comes across in his journeys. Keeping the best for himself to fill his isolated lair, he can easily loose himself in the brush strokes of a painting, and thinks of the world beyond his home in stylized art. This is a love he shares with his mate, a disgraced historian, the pair of them are all too similar in their lawless ways and love of art.
