Gale's Thoughts: Sidhe

I wonder how many clans can claim that they have a runaway princess among their ranks.

It's certainly been quite an adventure for Sidhe, and if she wasn't so brutally honest all of the time, I wouldn't believe half the things she's told me. Goodness me, this fae can weave a tale like no other storyteller I've ever met.

Some random things Sidhe has experienced, in no particular chronological order:

- Three wildclaws, completely independently of each other, coming up to her in a tavern and asking her to be the face for their newest products

- Being part of an actual prison riot despite not being a prisoner... or even intentionally in the prison

- Being mistaken for the emcee at a pop concert and then staying to host until the end of the concert because she actually ended up enjoying herself

- A caterpillar-eating contest in the Shrieking Wilds (she got fourth)

- Opening a cursed jar by accident and the cursed spirit inside cursing her, only for the cursed spirit to go on a fifteen minute rant about how the curse wasn't working (she still has no idea what the curse was supposed to be)

- Surviving the worst lightning storm in the Shifting Expanse in the past century without having shelter

I don't know how she's managed it. Her family was part of a fairly significant regional dispute in the Shifting Expanse, so her face should have been fairly well-known when she finally made a run for it. She and her mate, Shaida, shouldn't have been able to escape as easily as they did. I asked some of the more information-savvy members of the clan to check in on her family's status when she came to us, and they've scattered. The King and Queen were in different realms and the throne had been taken by the brother of the King's family.

Maybe they think she's dead. That would explain why no one's come looking, but for all her honesty, Sidhe remains tight-lipped about what drove her to leave and refuses to divulge information about her family.

I'm pretty sure she's in the clear now; it's been many, many years. That doesn't stop Shaida from watching her back every time she leaves the clan's borders.

Baseline Stats





Sidhe's way with words makes her beyond enchanting to engage with, and any teachings she received due to being a member of a royal family were undoubtedly riddled with social niceties she maintains at least somewhat to this day. She's an extremely charismatic individual.



While her supposed magical adeptness and her long journeys have undoubtedly left Sidhe with some level of combat ability, it's no secret that Shaida's the one who's seen more action of the two, largely in an attempt to protect Sidhe.



She's booksmart, emotionally intelligent, and has enough street smarts to not be completely walked over by those who have lived more difficult lives. Nothing about Sidhe's intelligence truly stands out, per se, but she's definitely no slouch and shouldn't be underestimated.



Bumbling through the commoners' world as a princess in her early life and having the experiences she's had? Yeah, I'd say Sidhe's pretty lucky to have ended up where she's at now.



If she's really as powerful magically as Shaida claims, and ever a day comes when Shaida is too weak to defend himself from an attacker, I dread to think what sort of lightning barrage may emerge when Sidhe finds them.



While physically, she's healthy as can be for an older fae, Shaida's sickness has taken an emotional and mental toll on Sidhe's normally rock-solid psyche, even though she's doing her best to keep things normal for both of them. If he takes a turn dramatically for the worse, she most definitely will as well.
