Iskal originally joined the clan to aide in the development of their fighters guild. When Raegaard's clan began to grow he and the elder council established the guild to provide the clan with a strong, well organized defense system against the ever growing beast clans and in case of war with opposing clans. When the decision was made to establish such a guild he opened its doors not only to current clan members who may be interested, but also to any able bodied male from beyond their realm, offering them a safe home within the clan and plentiful food in exchange for their services. In the beginning Raegaard himself with the assistance of the well learned scholar Toklo handled all of the applications and training of new members but it became evident that though they both had immense knowledge and experience in the art of battle, Toklo's rejection of violence and Raegaard's lack of teaching skills left them poorly suited for the job. Luckily for them shortly after the establishment of the Fighter's Guild, Battle Master Cerin showed up at their doorstep. Initially he was just seeking a new home and a spot within the guild; but once the elders saw his immense ability and skill they immediately appointed him to the position of Head Battle Master of the guild. He was first in charge of the training of all new recruits and of all fuctions of the Fighter's Guild. As the guild continues to grow, Cerin is always seeking new advanced members to appoint to high positions to help him with its management and with training of new comers. This is where Iskal came in at. Iskal applied to the program a few months after Cerin's appointment as the head master. Cerin was skeptical of him at first because he just seemed too soft in his opinion. In all truth he is a much more calm and collected Wildclaw than many of the others, particularly in the fighters guild. However, despite this, he found himself as second in command under Cerin. He oversees and specializes in intelligence, secret operations, and tactical training. Though he's not the most aggressive or distinguished hand to hand combat fighter in the guild, particularly not in comparison to the fierce Cerin, he is extremely cunning and perfectly qualified for his high position.

Aside from his status in the fighters guild he is well liked among his clan mates. Many of the clan members tend to feel uncomfortable around Wildclaws due to their intimidating appearance and fierce reputation, but Iskal allows them to see past all of the stereotypes. He's outgoing and a true gentleman and loves entertaining hatchlings. He can often be found relaxing at bars with a stout drink after training sessions at the guild (he never has too much unlike some of his guild brothers). Sometimes he even goes to Toklo's library to wind down after a hard day of training and recruiting.
