Khamsin was raised in a desert, and was always fascinated by the sands and the way they shifted in the wind. She would venture into the dunes for hours on end, studying and playing with sand. She eventually attuned herself to the sand, becoming able to shape and control it. She left her parents' lair to see the sands of Sornieth. She grew in power until she could no longer control it. She went to the Tempest Spire, looking to the Stormcatcher for help and guidance. He had no patience for her and sent her far away to the Southern Icefield. Khamsin met Dausteon in the Southern Icefield on his way to join a new clan. He helped to tame her power and learn to control it better. It helped being away from the Shifting Expanse and its vast dunes. She decided she would travel to Dausteon's new clan with him and see if they would accept her. When she showed Genoth what she could do, he accepted immediately. Khamsin now works on the mountains and cliffs of the lair, helping Kyyrvan and Akusei with lair construction by shifting away all the debris with her powers. She still travels often, especially back to her original home. When travelling, she often guides dragons across the Shifting Expanse. She is known as a very lucky guide because she has never been caught in a sandstorm. |
