Fate might be a cruel one, or he might not know what cruelty is. Either way, Cranky proudly joins Angel in the ranks of ‘ill-named dragons’ - personally, he simply likes to blame his parents, wherever in the Tangled Wood they are now.

It was supposedly them, too, who told the Tundra about the Clan: retribution of some sort, Cranky chuckles under his breath. Dragons under the Shadowbinder were renowned tricksters, but their magic, too, was an art. And he took both with him.

In a way, at least. Cranky was never quite talented enough to study the magic of mischief, but he knew a thing or two about it - and he had no doubts that that was more than enough to get him ahead. It wasn’t anything special at home, of course, but perhaps there would be takers elsewhere? Yes, that was what he’d do.

So he landed in the Sunbeam Ruins, carrying whatever he could with him: some mystical artifacts here, some rare herbs there. As a traveler, he was warmly welcomed into the Clan, as a merchant, in the Stone Order. He now runs a small store from the Clan’s grounds, dealing in magical objects - the Glass Order is particularly happy to cooperate with him, as long as it helps the Clan.

For all the research he’s done, though, Cranky can never be entirely sure of an unknown object’s true nature, particularly if he wasn’t the one to make it. Some care is advised, but really - it’s not his problem, anyway.
