Blakerin was brought in as a hatchling into a very new clan; as one of the first Light dragons and the first Imperial, Blakerin wanted to bring honour to his clan. Since he grew very quickly, it was easy for him to take up being a warrior. The first six months were very tiring for him, and he didn't have a mentor, so he was very inexperienced. Still being young, he was disheartened easily and gave up his stead until he became more confident.
With enough time, he returned to the battlefield, and this time as a warrior he was fearless and fell his enemies with ease. It still took a major toll on his spirit, but for different reasons than before. He hadn't wanted to harden his heart and had fears that he would grow cold. As the thrill of honour and glory eventually faded, Blakerin felt it was time to retire.
He still maintained the same bravery he had as a hatchling, but he felt more inclined to directly serve his clan as a protector of theirs rather than fight opposing forces.
