Bart always "stays in". Between the bamboo, hiding from the wind he stays, very unlike his elements. He read books, books about adventures of places far away and treacherous stories.

He never wanted to be those within the book. It was fun to put himself in their wings for a bit, but he never saw himself of any talent to go out there himself.

Sometimes Blot will sit down to join him, occasionally offering a book to share. But they had different tastes, Blot was more into darker stories. Bart liked happy endings.

And sometimes he was moody.

He didn't do much. He'll oftentimes stay in his part of the lair, reading. Occasionally he'll go out to gather plants for the clan, but that's the only time he'll go out. Blot, as well as others, worry. He's become more and more moody as time goes on. He's been sleeping more and more. Some days he won't get up for hours.

He doesn't aspire for anything.

Bart has started growing a flower. A sweet-smelling flower, it attracted many insects. It was grew away from the lair, too much activity there, someone might step on it. It was nice, Bart started to go out, even if it was to just tend to this flower.

Bart has been waking up earlier to go check on his flower. He talks to it, shares the stories he has read to the flower. Talking will help the flower grow. This is the most he's talked to a living thing in a while while not moody. Sometimes he comes back with leaves clinging to him, but he brushes them off.

Bart hasn’t been happier for a while until now. Some contribute it to being out of the lair more, some contribute to him talking to something, even if it’s a plant. But in general, it was good.

Blot welcomed him as he came back to the lair one afternoon. “Welcome back, Bart, how is the f-“
“No!” Bart cut Blot off, then pulled back sheepishly. “...I’m not going by Bart anymore. My name is Bertie.”

“Bertie?” This was not the first time Bertie had changed his name, but the first time was understandable. He was transitioning.

“She thought it sounded nice,” Bertie scratched the side of his head with a claw. “My last name was... mmph. I’m going to go read.” The nocturne left in a hurry before he could hear a response, leaving a few leaves behind as they fell off.

“Who is- wait!” Blit started, but Bertie was already gone. Annoyance shown in her frills, it was rude to leave mid-conversation. Ah well.... He even left a mess. The fae began to pick up the leaves shed behind, some of them had long stems.
