Radium is a cheerful, emotionally-driven dragon, and one of the more talkative in the Onslaught Company. She loves to show off her knowledge of anything and anything magic-related, especially when it comes to the Shade. Radium has little sense of personal space and may be a bit touchy if not told to back off. She’s very willing to help others and share knowledge, and may be a bit oblivious to trickery. In her writing, however, Radium is composed, and formal.

As a child, Radium was terrified of the Shade. A Shade infestation wiped out half of the population of her birth clan, forcing them to move to the outskirts of the Hewn City. Radium was curious to know how to help her birth clan, and thus began training to be a paladin (and to overcome her fear of the Shade). She was put down and treated as less equal due to her Fire heritage, with most paladins being of Light heritage. The fire element methods of obliterating the Shade were not as effective as Light or Arcane magic. Radium flung herself into research as to how Fire dragons could purge the Shade, and along the way became obsessed with the workings of the Shade and how to defeat it. When she was done with her training, she decided to pursue further research and thus set out into the world.

Radon is Radium’s research partner and the closest dragon to her, they typically work together in research and the pursuit of knowledge. Radium views the Shade monster Sz’ray as her greatest project, and she uses him to research the workings of the Shade and the sealing runes marking his body. She claims to be emotionally detached from him, but she seems to genuinely care about his wellbeing. She has collaborated with Squall, who is interested in robotic technology, and he even netted her a Steelhound and said Steelhound’s drones as a gift.
