Misaki
Wind Ambassador

The gentle breeze caressed the fur and scales of one, as the water crept towards the coastline.. The cries of the apatite fishers slowly beckoned the clan out of the depths of slumber into the new day, but one who would only awaken in the blink of an eye. Rapidly dashing out towards the coast to meet the morning sea breeze, one Caribbean figure stood out beyond the rest of the standards. Passion in every beat of his heart, racing through his veins it only felt right to fly there. The melodies of the waves meeting the sand brought great peace to the Coatl’s heart, washing him clean of the anxieties met in his day to day affairs. For it was here, that his entire being, in mind, body and soul received the cleansing. In the joys of another domain much higher than the soft sand brushing his claws or the refreshing touch the water provided. The joy… Of FLIGHT! In a single bound, Misaki begun his traditional seclusion from society even if the entry into paradise was only short lived. Here in the domain that even the gods themselves had the capability to graze, freedom and purity reign above all else.
But on this seemingly perfect day… One where it had appeared the gods would seemingly be smiling down on the carefree Coatl, would his dream be torn away from his eyes like the life of prey torn away by it’s predator. Whilst only small patches of clouds painted the azure sky on the faithful morrow.. It had slowly begun to brood, the rage of a higher force unknown to all life that would be participants in this reality and the one that laid beyond… the sky’s cotton clouds had begun the creeping transformation away from peace to fury. Rain only lightly fell from the clouds at first, Misaki noticed the occurrence; only to promptly disregard the sign of oncoming peril as he had commonly flown in precipitation before without succumbing to any major consequences, or injuries. Fate placed its cards in a manner that would permanently change not only Misaki’s life, but the entire clans.
The gentle rain slowly begun its manifestation into a dark patch of destruction, eager to leave only despair and sadness across the lands and inhabitants affected. Locked in the carefree paradise only limited now to an image sewn in the deepest corners of Misaki’s mind, reality only pulled him away from the alluring daydream upon the first lightning strike with its sound tearing through the air lightly singing the Coatl’s tail. With the elimination of distraction Misaki rushed into a rapid nosedive towards the ground, in hopes of fleeing the conditions as quickly as time would permit. But in the moment, another rod of destruction blazed down from the skies. This time it’s target not the terrain that lay below but the one in the domain.
The view of Misaki faded only into black and his vision finally returning after arriving back to normal consciousness in Asterion’s operating room. ‘And here I was thinking I’d never have to use this room again!’ Asterion lightly chuckled as he continued retrieved medications for treating Misaki’s catastrophic wounds. Questioning the events between the loss of consciousness and the present, Misaki attempted to heave his body off of the table but a great pain tore through his wing whilst the other only felt numb. ‘You should consider yourself a living miracle Misaki, surviving a lightning strike and not becoming roasted in the process! Fortunately, you will be able to make a full recovery but… You might have noticed your wings.’ Asterion said as his patient glanced at his wings. Each had large amounts of bloodied bandages wrapped around, with one completely black underneath the see-through material and the other his normal genetic colours. ‘Flying… You will never be able to take to the skies again my boy. I’m sorry.’ Asterion grimly stated with only guilt on his face.
What can I even make of life without flight?
The thought had commonly passed through Misaki’s mind, in the passing moons of the day that the gods themselves took aways misaki’s flight abilities. Whenever he was not hunting with the clan, Misaki would commonly take leisure in relaxing on the beach underneath the sky he would once fly in. The breeze still had the same effect as it did all those moons ago… Every bit of pain and sadness was washed away in the peace of the breeze.
If only there was a way to rejoin that domain once again…
The dream of Misaki laid in tatters, the concept of defending his clan in aerial combat one barred by the walls of impossibility. What would it mean to achieve it, was unknown. The days slowly dragged on, what would become of Misaki’s dream lay unknown. It had not been until another fateful day, the door to reunion with the skies would become a possibility once again. Asterion had gathered the populace to announce that the clan’s aerial combatants would need new recruits, but not for the purpose of aerial combat carried by their own two wings. But… Machines! Great contraptions delved out of ores gathered from far and wide, to shut down threats and unleash peace. An now ecstatic Misaki located it. The key to the reunion.
Naturally, Misaki instantly volunteered and was recruited. Moons passed, as did the days of his training before he met the coastline once again, with a new harness on his back. The invention was simple: In order to allow the dreams of all to be accomplished once again silver wings rested atop of Misaki’s scarred, damaged ones. After a troubled start, it was a success! The skies slowly became more and more approachable once again with only the tears of Misaki’s happiness raining down below. The wind blew new breeze, the relief and birth of the master of the wind and flight. The dream was complete.
