Mel is unbelieveably kind and gentle dragon, whose main problem is his unpredictable loyalty. He becomes affectionate towards literally anyone who acts kindly towards him (especially towards those who offer him food), and follows them like a cute curious child. Mel is totally unable to harm anyone, and being big and strong helps a lot in passively defending himself - no one tries to bully him either. He often takes interest in tiny helpless creatures, and it is exactly how he met Summer. Mel knows that the most important thing is to value everything you have and to enjoy all current events, not pleading for more. As an Ice Elder, he doesn't do much to protect the Southern Icefield, but he passionately loves it. He buries himself in snow and catches snowflakes, playing himself to sleep. Speaking of which, he sleeps a lot - curling and rolling in his snowy bed, he makes the most peaceful expression and sometimes silently squeaks if his dreams are especially vivid.
