Out of each of the four faction subordinates, Octavian was the only one to be chosen for his physcial skill rather than his aptitude for leadership. Taking after his faction director, Octavian always had a naturally built frame and a quick mind necessary for the fighting techniques that are signature alone to the Polarfrost Faction. However, many of the Polarfrost-oriented dragons wonder if choosing this young Wildclaw as subordinate was a sudden and odd lapse in North's judgement.

Octavian is a hard-headed and tough derg, who doesn't often take advice. While he has never been much of a follower, considering him to be much a leader would be a stretch as well. Where his faction director knows the importance of rewarding obedience, Octavian is always looking for faults in others. He can be downright cruel at times, even to his own mate and offspring.

The only leadership trait Octavian shares with his Director is the constant drive to be better and the ability to instill the same ideas into others. He has a zero-tolerance mindset towards anything that does not make his Faction stronger and if it weren't for the fact that offspring helps the faction grow, he would probably have never taken a mate or fathered hatchlings as he sees family as nothing more than a distraction from the real goal.

Because of his harsh, and often cruel, personality, the rest of the Polarfrost Faction are anxious for the future. Hopefully for them, Octavian has plenty of time to hone his leadership abilities before he takes over as director.
