He was once a free dragon, the silent guardian of his forest at night, a protector of the creatures living under their wings. Before HE came and took it away in one fell swoop, that arrogant grin never leaving his face even as he carved runes of possession into his body.

Ever since that day he's been forced to follow HIM like a lapdog, forced to obey his commands, nothing more than a slave, the chosen "mate" for his beauty and elegance. No matter how he tries to circumvent the runic shackles and the commands he is given, HE always manages to capture him again, only to carve out a few more runes, bind them tighter and tighter, his poisonous words filled with fake kindness, scolding him as if he was a disobedient child. He hates it.

But what he hates even more is what HE did to his body. HE fancies himself a scholar studying the world, so when they came across a fascinating anomaly in the Starfall Isles, HE pushed him in with a smile.

Nushen remembers little except the pain from the days he spent wandering the Anomaly. As the Shade taint gripping onto him like a parasite from HIM and the Arcane anomaly battled in his body, it changed, became something unrecognizable. Crystals of Arcane grew out of black, wispy, thorn-like fur. His nature magic was squashed, Arcane powers replacing most of them. One of his eyes turned magenta, yet his sight was stolen forever, replaced by darkness with ripples of pink where magic flows.

It took him years to get used to his new body and magics, yet he's never stopped plotting his escape, swearing revenge on the dragon that brought him so much misery. Banding with the rest of HIS slaves, he's waiting for the perfect moment to strike, to feel the red lifeblood of victory on his claws.

Nushen is generally a quiet dragon, preferring to keep to himself. He had a deep fondness for animals and small creatures, as evidenced by the colony of fairies living in his fur and feeding on his magic. He's very attached to them and not even Asra could get him to shoo them away. He's surprisingly shy, especially around strangers, his throat tightening and stopping him from speaking a word, often leading to a bad first impression.

He's a very determined individual, never giving up despite the odds, overcoming his shy nature to speak words of wisdom. His charisma pulls people towards him, to see the power behind the frail. Magic comes to him instinctually, his new nature/arcane magic even more so. He's feverishly studied runes ever since Asra bound him in hopes of finding a way to reverse them, with no success. He has, however, become quite the expert in them. His feelings towards them are mixed - they are his shackles, yet also his wings of freedom.

Nushen has a keen mind and a love for knowledge. He devours books with passion, especially those about plants, magic and Sornieth.
