Basque had always loved the open air. This is what drove him away from the tangled woods where he was born. He had thought to travel to the Ashfall Waste, but had some trouble along the way. He ended up in the windswept delta, quite lost, but also quite content. The many winds that blew across the plane ruffled his feathers and made him calm. It was nice, peaceful. He made himself a small home. Nice, simple, quiet.
He stayed here for a time. A significant time. Eventually though, Basque began to miss his home, but he didn’t remember the way back. So, he set off, skirting around the Sea of a Thousand Currents, through the edges of plague territory.
Basque’s visit Home was a short one. What should have been a reunion was much less than expected. The dragons he used to know were stand-offish. They hardly recognized him. The whole trip only served to remind Basque why he left. And so again, he set off, planning to return to his small home in the wind territory.
The problem was, when he got back, a group of dragons had taken up residence there. He stayed around the edge for a while, not getting to close.
Eventually, he was approached by another dragon, one who had noticed him lingering around, and who was curious. They invited Basque in, and gave him a home, which he accepted, not mentioning that it was his home first. But they were nice, and he soon grew to love this little group of dragons.
