Daeva Occupation: Thief Flight: Earth Allegiance: Shadow He’s small and cuddly and full of smiles, chittering excitedly and constantly buzzing with delight. It’s no small feat that he’s managed to learn the tongue of the common dragon, squeaking out words proudly in broken syntax with all the enthusiasm of a hatchling on a sunny day. It’s not uncommon for him to slip in close for a hug, or to offer congratulatory pats on the back to outsiders who best his kin in feats of combat and wits. All in all, he seems like an excellent sport, a wonderful friend, and one of the sweetest little dragons one could ever hope to meet. Then, they realize their coin purse is missing. That bit of jewelry they inherited from their mother has somehow slipped off of their wrist. The satchel of pricey feathers and that phial of glittering cerdae dust has vanished straight into the ether, gone with that kind embrace or flirty shoulder-rub. Their diary, their treasure, their gems have wandered off, clenched in the mouth of that beautiful pretender. Daeva is a tricky beast, a playful creature who gets his kicks by seeing who is dumb enough to fall victim to his charms next. It’s less about material gain than the thrill to him, and he keeps notches of his con conquests much like his Casanova clanmates keep track of the number of nests they’ve fathered. His kin are torn between being proud and ashamed of him, a fair chunk more than a little put-off by the lack of remorse he shows while “liberating” goods from his marks, while others--mainly Ridgebacks--find his antics impressive or amusing. All it takes is a little glitter, a few flower petals, and the right amount of smiling. Kind words can carry a dragon a long, long way, and a saccharine personality can fool the wisest of dragon. Daeva knows this well and he plays his cards like a professional, cackling in his corner of the lair as he decides which of his ill-gotten goods he’ll wear to his next job. Aww. Isn't he cute? He's so adorable. Go ahead, give him a biiiiig hug. Then maybe cancel your credit card before he has a chance to use it.
