Biography
Bearclaw & Joyleaf

Bearclaw
Hunter | Warrior | Adventurer
|
Like his element, Wind, Bearclaw is a very temperamental dragon, as everyone can confirm who has ever met him. He can be irascible and not easy to deal with, but thanks to his mate, Joyleaf, he has learned to (occasionally) listen to reason and at least try to be patient. Joyleaf was the reason he joined Clan Cuivienen, instead of continuing to roam Sornieth looking for adventure and the unknown. Despite his temper, his heart is in the right place, and he is known for his courage, strength, and his fierce loyalty to his family. From time to time, he and Joyleaf will leave together to find an adventure of their own, but they always return. Bearclaw is a born hunter, swift, silent, and deadly. Next to Thranduil, he's one of the best hunters of the clan. Unlike Thranduil, Bearclaw prefers to kill his prey with claws and teeth instead of bow and arrow. The only weapon he carries from time to time is a wicked curved blade he calls "Longclaw". As a hunter, he is always in control and merciful, never causing unnecessary hurt and always killing swiftly and cleanly. It is only in battle where his clan mates need to keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't get blinded by rage and go on a killing spree or get too bloodthirsty (that would be the time to get Joyleaf, if she isn't already there). On all his hunts, Bearclaw is always accompanied by his moody familiar Tork, who is an equally skilled hunter. When hunting at night, the both of them are almost invisible while stalking their prey in woodland or amongst bushes or tall grasses. When they're not hunting or adventuring, Tork often goes his own ways. His foul temper and deadly venom causes most dragons to give him a wide berth, and the only being next to Bearclaw he really tolerates is Joyleaf (and her familiar). |

Bearclaw doesn't really have close friends. He and Thranduil treat each other with mutual respect, but since Bearclaw's temper and Thranduil's arrogance don't mix well, they only seek each other's company on occasional hunts. Bearclaw and Michael understand each other in a way few others can, but since their dark sides are too similar for comfort, they don't really like to spend much time together. One dragon whose presence Bearclaw doesn't mind is Galaeron, and the two of them will sometimes keep watch together during a long night like silent ghosts. Bearclaw never minds being on his own, tolerating company mostly for Joyleaf's sake. Name: Borrowed from ElfQuest with love. |
