Shaeo wandered the plaguelands, searching for a small safe haven to rest for the night. As he slept he saw a vision of himself, standing on some nameless peak far to the south, further than he had ever gone. Beside him he could make out the shape of a pearlcatcher dragon, though the harsh white light she emitted made it impossible for Shaeo to determine anything else about her.

He turned his head and saw that a huge black cloud rolled along the ground, dark bolts of black lightning seen flashing from its depths. It was far, in the vision, but approaching fast. A huge glowing white cloud stood directly behind him. He drew his sword without knowing, and began leading a charge toward the black cloud. He awoke just as he made contact with the frightening fog.

Every night for the past 11 weeks had brought him the same vision. He knew, deep in his heart that he would have to face his destiny, but he dreaded finding out just what it all really meant.

He found Jötunheimr a few weeks later. To the residents, he is one of the many warriors that hunt and keep other clans at bay, not really remarkable in any way. To the ones who can see the subtle strings of fate know that he will soon be called away to fight of a greater threat than any had seen.
