Originally born in the plagued lands, her body was not able to withstand the constant attack of illnesses and viruses that roamed the land. Desperately she tried to escape, she ran into the forests of the shadow domain and became hoplessly lost in the twisting trunks and softly glowing mushrooms. With her strength gone she collapsed to accept her fate, calling out to beg that the shadowbinder to accept her. To her surprise the shadowbinder responded and embraced the skydancer into her shadows. Penumbra does not talk about her past and there are still many mysteries to her nature.

*the visitor stumbles upon a skydancer skulking in the shadows of the interior of the lair hill. She is adorned in dark armor that seems to blend in with the darkness around her. The door behind her is a very heavy looking wooden door with strong metal reinforcements.* Who are you? *she asks in a slow voice that seems devoid of actual interest. She waits for the visitor to reply before saying more in the same slow and rather emotionless tone.* I am Penumbra... guardian of this door and the room beyond it. Only those authorized may go past it and you are not one of them. If you wish to go beyond this door you will have to get the permission of one of the clan's superiors. *she fluffs her wings and seems to realize she should add some information* I believe Astreos would be one to inquire with. *when the visitor explains they want to know about her personally she tilts her head in confusion* Why would one such as you be interested in a sorry creature as myself? *she seems honestly confused at the visitors interest.* I am but a warrior and a protector of the room beyond this door. *there is a moment of silence as she stares at the visitor with blank eyes. They are odd, they don't seem to be looking at the visitor but something beyond them.* I lived once beyond the tanglewood but I became lost and was reborn within the darkness. I stumbled upon this lair in my travels and was offered a place within its borders. *she pulls her wings around herself in a cloak fashion* I have given you your information. I desire solitude now stranger. *she ignores any and all further attempts to talk to her by the stranger. The visitor leaves feeling strange, as if they had just come up from being submerged in water*
