Rhen has lost so much since she became part of the Dawnling Cadets. When she first joined the clan, it was small, and she and her mate Xyr decided to stay. Shortly after, she had her first clutch of eggs. As a promising warrior, she provided hope to the Cadets that their clan would soon flourish and grow strong in the months to come.

And it was so. Rhen and Xry became the first Directors of the Mystic Faction (the only faction to ever have had two Directors at once) and the two of them trained their followers in the techniques of their home clan, which most of the Mystic Faction's highly distinguishable fighting style has been attributed to.

But, despite Xyr's reasoning, Rhen was too ambitious for her own good. Too willing to rush into things and come out on top, it was inevitable that she would run herself and her faction into the ground before coming to see reason. One day, she pushed her faction too hard; sending a small group of warriors, including her mate and two of her own offspring, to fight against much nastier enemies without thinking through any real plans. None of that party returned, and they were all deemed to have been killed by the enemies they had been sent to fight.

Rhen was destroyed by this, and took many rotations of the moon to recover. When she did, she was no longer as fierce as she once had been. She is more careful about the battles she picks; but still nonetheless ready to fight with the ferocity she had always expected of those whole chose to follow her.
