A crisis of faith.
At least, that is what the Skydancer considered her current self-imposed exile in the Tangled Wood. Sadi arrived in the Tangled Wood unannounced one day with her brother Luka in tow. When confronted by the border guards, she firmly requested nothing but safe passage for the pair. After meeting with the troop’s eccentric leaders, she was offered refuge within the clan’s borders in exchange for her medical expertise. What was initially only planned as a few weeks respite has turned into an ongoing residency. The soft spoken Skydancer is the subject of a great deal of curiosity within the clan – especially from other Plague dragons. Sadi serves as the Shrikespur’s disease specialist. Her ability to identify, manipulate, and control diseases is second to none in the region. While other dragons in the clan may serve as healers for minor injuries and illnesses, Sadi is the one called to tend to dragons with foreign or extremely virulent ailments. A previous ordeal has caused damage to the tender nerves of her forearms and wings causing them to constantly tremble. This does not stop her from performing her duties with precision and diligence. Sadi carries about her a peculiar air of dignified sadness. Most of her time is spent either alone or in the quiet company of her brother and intimidating familiar, Viremia. She shows a certain reluctance to get close to any members of the troop and insists that her stay in the Shadowbinder’s territory is only temporary. She doesn’t speak much about her past life in the Scarred Wasteland. The little she is willing to divulge is that she is currently struggling with the gifts that the Plaguebringer has bestowed upon her. Such weakness, she intones when pressed, is not permitted under the Mother’s eyes. Her blindfold serves a dual purpose: first as a visible sign of her self-imposed punishment and second a reminder of her promise to not look upon her homeland again until she can once again see and appreciate the purpose of her gifts. |
