Trait / Trait / Trait
In silence XiaoHui feels closest to her lost ones. Yet still her memories haunt her, and will always haunt her.

It had been midday when the harpies closed in. An entire battalion targeted her clan. Being small as it was, and not having enough fighters to defend it, the clan was struck by surprise and a massacre soon began around them. XiaoHui had heard the alarming screams from the market, struck by fear and surprise. It only took moments to understand with painful clarity what was going on. The steady beat of many wings filled the air. XiaoHui knew something was wrong. Very, very wrong. The basket of food she was carrying dropped to the ground as white feathers rained from the sky. Before XiaoHui could register what the feathers were falling from, sharp, black talons descended. Questions riddled her mind and the air, quickly answered by the white-feathered and merciless creatures that viciously began their feeding period.

XiaoHui flew back to her den at a speed only her fear could invoke. The midnight-black claws stole dragons from the earth around her, flying up into the mist shrouding the skies with their prey. XiaoHui had jerked to a stop, barely avoiding one of the elders of her clan as his mouth opened in surprise, talons emerging from the wrinkled skin on his chest. The harpies were releasing shrill battle cries, obviously content to be bathing in the turmoil around them. XiaoHui flew faster, attempting to avoid the morbid battle. Yet fighting was everywhere, pain was everywhere. When she finally reached her den, survivors were fleeing every which way and corpses of her clan mates were being dragged up and away. By the time XiaoHui had entered her den it was too late. It was eerily empty, broken pottery scattered across the ground. One piece stood out more than the others, however. It had been dragged across the floor, digging deep like a cut into the earth and appearing shallow further down. Bile rose in XiaoHui's throat as she spotted the corner where her youngest child had been sleeping when she left. Now only a set of dark crimson stains, smelling metallic, covered the earth. Her eyes searched the entire room, finding desperate claw marks everywhere. They were deep and unforgiving, a testament to the pain of the mark's creator.

XiaoHui left, after crying for a good hour or so non-stop. The harpies had left, but soon their calls were back in the air, returning for the final kills. XiaoHui left her clan in a drunken manner, both wanting to stay and wanting to leave all at once. She had a feeling of loneliness, emptiness and endless sadness. Quickly after she had left clan grounds she fled, tears streaming down her face. Words she couldn't say choked her, words she needed to say to honor her clan. Yet in sorrow the words she longed to speak-yet deeply despised-were lost.

Now XiaoHui travels in silence, for to speak would to be rekindle the pain rooted within her, and to confront emotions she can barely control. XiaoHui takes temporary residence in various clans where she is welcomed, always hoping to find peace. In the night however, no matter where she goes, she twists and turns to the horrid screech of the harpies echoing in her head, reminding her that what happened cannot be undone. Through the obvious pity she receives from dragons she meets, XiaoHui sometimes sees the resemblance of her old clan-mates. False hope would fill her, another survivor! Yet her sadness would surface as well. Nonetheless, the mask of a stranger once again fills their faces and XiaoHui lives with only the memories of those she had once been close to, loved even.

XiaoHui, although she barely talks, is known to have a sweet, kind and caring personality. She loves being around hatchlings, sometimes to fill the empty space within her where her family use to reside. In result of her old clan's traumatic end, regardless of her various hobbies and likes, nobody (not even herself) knows what might trigger her emotions and cause her pain. This sometimes results in her occasional reaction of sorrow, sending herself further away from the new life she wishes to have. Luckily, her quiet love of calligraphy and statue carving has never caused her pain, instead granting her tranquility that cannot be attained else-wise. With each new creation she feels one step closer to healing.

XiaoHui will always be dragged down by her pain, a burden that can be too heavy to bear alone. Luckily, she is liked by many dragons of various clans, who are more than willing to provide support and do whatever they can for her. Her pain is lessened by her love of travelling, and her love to help others over her own needs, slowly mending the empty and torn space in her heart.

Lore made by the wonderful thefaceradar.

It is in the mysterious voided empires and monuments of this sun-specked land that the Lightweaver and her children have made their homes. These structures, which have existed since before dragonkind, are still the subject of study for many fascinated archaeologists and scholars. Crumbling ruins are all that visibly remain of the world that came before.
A ruined, skeletal landscape of shattered structures, gripped by a shade that boggles even the Light dragonflight's most studious archaeologists. In this broken city lay secrets that are too mysterious to unearth, and even the bravest dragons are given pause when approaching its haunted outskirts.
