Assuming the form of a woman, she answers by blaming the winds for her turbulence. Otherwise “I am gentler than that dry land of yours.” In the other, a survivor from a shipwreck accuses the sea of treachery and receives the same excuse. But for the winds, “by nature I am as calm and safe as the land.”

Thalassa resides in the highest point of Mount Piscium where it is coldest and mostly abandoned from other life. She admires the frigid temperatures and how they attempt to drive her away from the clearest point to the night sky. The chilling temperatures match those in The Southern Icefield where Thalassa was born. She prefers the location at Mount Piscium due to the clarity of the sky and little wind and snow, due to the clouds being much further below her.

On rare occasions she makes her way down to the more livable temperatures to bathe in the company of Gheata when she has returned from her own venturing in The Southern Icefield. But for when Gheata is still away Irieora makes fine company and is very pleasant to chat with among other things. Thalassa enjoys the loneliness of her roost and is usually content with her lifestyles of the cold and privacy, as Ice Elves do.
