Growing up, Seto was always...unique. For one thing despite hailing from the Southern Icefield, he's never been very fond of the cold. For another, he was never been able to leave anything mechanical well enough alone. One of his first attempted inventions was a heating system which technically did work. It just happened to work because it was on fire.
Although he claimed to leave his old clan due to feeling the call of The Search Seto was mostly just looking for a change of climate at the time. Passing through the Windswept Plateau on his travels, he became fascinated by flight, and the complexities of aerodynamics. Naturally, he attempted to build his own flying machines...which went about as well as his heater attempt. Less well in fact, at least the heater indirectly worked.
At this point feeling a genuine call to his Search, Seto wandered a great deal, getting lost for a little while in the Scarred Wastelands, before eventually stumbling across a small settlement on the edge between them and the Starfall Isles, just far enough on the arcane side that plants could manage to grow. For a certain definition of grow that is.
Almost immediately on entering the place Seto felt at home. There was a sense of belonging he'd never felt before among these oddball researchers and plant...things. That was when he knew his search was over. He'd found his charge.
