Life will always find a way, no matter how cold or unforgiving the day.
{Target sighted. Hatchling dragon. Temperature low.} Cold winds swirl as a massive automaton, covered in scratches and paint peeling off, stomps through the snow. The empty seat inside is old and broken, with no one to drive it for centuries. Now it moves itself, alone and searching for something, anything to give it purpose. "C-cold... help.." A young Spiral, extremely far from home, cries out in pain. His wings are frostbitten, and his scales have begun to turn blue. It's a wonder how he's survived this long, considering his homeland is a bright and sunny place, warm all year round. The metal beast stops, its foot a meter away from the baby dragon. The Spiral tries to lift his head to see the golem, but he's so numb he cannot move more than his near-frozen mouth. "...Help?"

It picks up the dragon, clicking open the hatch on its head and gently dropping him inside. The little dragon closes his pale eyes with a small moan, frightened and confused. Meanwhile, the cold iron creature revs up its drill, loud and dangerous, and begins to drill into the snow. After a solid ten minutes of throwing snow and ice in all directions, it reaches the entrance to a long-forgotten mine. The doorway is just large enough for the automaton to stomp inside, safe from the frost and snow above. As it moves through the tunnel, the walls scratch its sides. On one shoulder, the paint peels just enough to reveal ancient runes, carved long before the golem's last driver. "Ageless" Silently, it hunches down in the corner of the room, powering off. The hatch is left slightly open, and an old heater flickers on in the driver's compartment, meant to keep anything inside warm in even the coldest winters. The hatchling finally sleeps, no longer frightened, but content.
