Biography

Aurelia

Vault Guardian

Aurelia was born an alarmingly frail child, prone to sickness. Living in Ice, she was isolated from most germs and such, few things able to survive the cold environment. But, as she grew older, the pull to find her charge urged her to leave. Unfortunately for her, her path led her into the heart of the Scarred Wastelands. She journeyed for a few days, but eventually the new environment caught up to her in a nasty way. She continued searching through a rising fever, and just as she saw a hint of what could be civilization ahead, she grew weak and fainted.

When she awoke, she was in a strange clan, being cared for by a doctor. The clan's leader introduced himself as Yolo, and explained that she was in the Cartico Clan. After explaining her predicament, Yolo suggested that they help her leave the Wastelands. But, deep within her, Aurelia knew she was meant to be here. Her Charge was here. But there was no way she would survive here, the worst place imaginable for her weak immune system.

Thankfully, Yolo had just the solution. The clan stores all of their treasures in a secret underground cavern, but lately people have discovered it and have attempted to steal from it. They could really use a guardian, and with Aurelia being unable to survive outside, perhaps she would fare better hidden away within the Vault.

After some consideration, Aurelia agreed, and settled within the vault where she met the clan's book-keeper, Harmonia. Aurelia fell for the spiral quick and hard, though was oblivious to the other's obvious returned affections. Harmonia would constantly make excuses to visit her, aside from her regular visits in which she arrived to take stock of the contents of the vault.

Aurelia and Harmonia grew closer as the clan grew weak, dying off as members were picked off. When Yolo made the announcement that the clan would be journeying to settle in Shadow, Aurelia was faced with the reality that she may not make it. Overwhelmed with what may be to come and knowing she would soon have to face an outside world she hadn't stepped foot into for over two years, she finally gained the courage to confess her feelings to Harmonia.

Harmonia, of course, returned her affection whole heartedly. The two journeyed with the clan, Aurelia struggling but staying strong, determined to make it. Determined to build a new home with Harmonia and the clan that had become her family. And that was when she realized what her charge was. It was Harmonia, but it wasn't just her. It was the entire clan. This epiphany seemed to be all she needed for an extra burst of strength.

When the clan came to settle in the Shard Fortress, Aurelia suddenly became overwhelmed, realizing that she no longer had to hide away in a vault. She could actually do things now. But, now that the clan was weak, she knew that more than ever they needed a reliable vault to store things. Her and Harmonia under took the act of building a new underground vault beneath the Fortress' castle, and when they were finished, the two took up their home within it, Together.

And gods help anyone who tries to sneak in and steal.
