The first thing he remembered was waking up. He was gasping, like he had nearly drowned. Where am I? He wondered, before seeing the green mirror before him, she was dirty and looked exhausted but she came towards him with a soft smile, a pile of bandages and ripped cloth in her arms. Why would she need those? He looked down, only to see his skinless form, flesh and blood dangling from his body. He yelped in surprise before hearing the female in front of him say "Hush now, you're safe." "Wait!" He cried. "Who are you? Who am I?" But only a strangled hiss escaped is jaws. "More importantly, why do I have no skin?!" "Shhhh. Shh." She responded, instead taking to wrapping him in bandages and cloth. At least she's kind, he thought, but why is she ignoring me? All I want to know is my name! Well, actually I want to know a lot, but least she could do was respond. "Come my love, you should rest." He began to protest but his body obeyed her command. "Now, sleep." He could feel his eyelids drooping, and he snapped them open, trying to push away the sleepiness. No, I don't want to sleep. "Close your eyes." She whispered, curling herself around him like a cat and her kittens. "Sleep." Slowly his vision darkened as he slipped into unconsciousness.

He awoke the next morning to see the female sitting beside him, watching him lovingly. "Who are you?" He tried to ask, but again his voice came out strangled, like a gurgle or a growl he wasn't sure. "What happened to me?" "It's fine my love, everything is fine." "Everything is NOT fine! I have no scales, no skin, I have no idea who you are and I'm in a cave beside the Wyrmwound! Why are we beside the Wyrmwound!" He shrieked, his voice a strangled scream. "Calm down!" The moment he heard her voice he did, breathing slowly and bowing his head. No! I don't want to! I don't want to! A wave of peace came lapping up to the edges of his mind and he scrambled back, trying to staying out of the calming water. No! Please! And the water flowed up, covering him from tail to talons. It slowly receded as his mind once again began to function. What just happened? He wondered, looking down at his talons. Why do I have no skin! He yelped, backing away from the female in front of him. Who am I? What is happened to me! "Hush my love...it is not safe here, we should leave, find another place to live." "Can you at least answer my questions! Hello?" "Come my love, follow me." He protested, but his body had no choice but to obey.

He thought as they walked across the rotting wastes, mind racing as they slowly plodded along the stinking ground, the scent of rot drifting around them. Hissing and wheezing slowly escaped his throat as he attempted to speak. I can't speak...I can't make any noise...well, he can't make any noises that are useful. He looks down to his flesh, barely being held together as the bandages rub uncomfortably against frayed muscle.
