Created from spores in the wind as the Gladekeeper sighed, Eko is a being of intense and powerful magic. The Everbloom Gardens became her home during a great Creation by the Gladekeeper. The Gladekeeper pulled her from the nothing and set her in the lush paradise of her world. For Eko, it was everything she could have wanted in life. At her side, an immense guardian with a serious demeanor and an intensity to rival royalty. Around her, a group of dragons diverse and lovely. Her home could not be more perfect. All good things must come to an end, of course, and she found herself in a bitter battle with the serthis beastclans. Long-time enemies and formidable ones at that, the serthis were easily overtaking the small clan of dragons. In one disorienting battle, the serthis had struck down half the clan and run the rest out. Eko was among the dead, her small fae body laying prone against the living green of the Gardens. Although this is where her story should have ended, it is only where it truly begins. Death is just another great adventure, after all. The fae that had been so carefully crafted by the Gladekeeper returned to her natural state, floating among the trees as a sort of nature spirit. The Gladekeeper was her master and mentor, teaching and commanding in the same breath. Eko learned much about magic in her time as the dead. Not only healing arts and battle arts, but the ability of far-sight and divination that came to her as easily as breathing had come to her living body. Magic was not just a part of her, it was all of her. Something changed in the world, a subtle shift that could barely be felt by the living but that the dead and between couldn't ignore. The deities were sending some of their fallen creations back into the world. It caused a great buzz among the spirits, setting them on edge at every moment. The Gladekeeper wanted only to return her faithful and useful servants. For Eko, it meant she would no longer be part of the magical current in the Viridian Labyrinth. It meant she was going home. Home was not what she expected, when she returned. Half of the dragons in her clan were not the ones she had left. But Valentino was there, even if he was a different breed. Their reunion sparked new life into the clan and they began to expand confidently. Much of the magic she learned in the Gladekeeper's claws was left behind the veil, unable to transfer to the living world. Still Eko knows more of magic than most dragons in her clan and her reborn status has lifted her to a sort of martyr status among some of the Glen. She is incredibly in tune with the world around her and still, sometimes, when she is quiet and alone, can hear the Gladekeeper's whispers in her ears. She hopes that never changes. |
