Many years ago, long before Sorienth was established and when man still dwelled the realm, a young elven noble dreamt of a home for her broken people. Their kingdom had been destroyed by the rising dragonkind. A new era was beginning to dawn, and the people were without a home. The young noble, a woman called Arwyn, was well loved and respected by her people. She was the daughter of the late elvish King raised in royal blood, and her heart ached to see those who remained of her people.

Arwyn began her quest to put an end to the wandering of her subjects. She led an adventuring group across the known realm in search of a new home. Icaria, spread along the edges of what is known as the Sunbeam Ruins, was discovered. This was where her kingdom was destined to be. However, the realm was crawling with the divine dragons. Arwyn refused to falter. She sought out the Divine Dragon, Naga, for guidance and mercy. Arwyn was promised the realm in exchange for her 'heart'. Arwyn would remain alive as the heart of Icaria until the kingdom crumbles at the end of time itself. Blessed by the divine and powered by her warrior spirit, Arwyn rallied her people, and together they waged in a war to take the land alongside several other wandering groups who had lost their homelands to the dragons. The unified banner was then established as the Icarian Kingdom in its full glory after several months of warring for freedom. Arwyn was given the throne and the crown, loved by her many people, and she reigned for centuries.

As the years passed, Arwyn fell in love with her dear friend and royal sorcerer, Atlas. The two of them had grown up together. They had wandered with their people when their home was destroyed, they had fought at each others side, and loved one another dearly. They were partners, lovers, and best friends. But, when Atlas grew corrupt, becoming Legion, and Arwyn was forced to make the decision to banish him in order to keep her people safe, it devastated her. The weight of her crown grew to be unbearable. That day she lost something she cherished most deeply. Arwyn stepped down from her throne and took up the post as the guardian of the city, mourning her failure to save one of her beloved.

Now, Arwyn remains the lead defender of Icaria. She is known as 'the Valkyrie', the Guardian who's charge is the very city she led the crusade to establish. While she has stepped down from her throne, she remains on the council and is a personal mentor to her successors. She mentors Meteora, a young paladin who Arwyn rescued and adopted, and she is a mother figure to the Prince, Nicholas. The people of Icaria still love and hold Arwyn in high respect. In return, she loves her people and defends them with her immortal life.

In her humanoid appearance, Arwyn is built very lithely. She is tall, nimble, and blessed with beauty and youth from her elvish blood. Her skin is a fair ivory color, and her hair is cut short and the shade of a raven's feather. Arwyn is tall. She stands a head taller than even the best warrior in the realm. Arwyn is a powerful sorcerer and swordswoman. She wields the divine weapon, The Brightblade, which was gifted to her from the Divine Dragon when she gave her heart in exchange for the promise of conquering and establishing Icaria.
