ISALUS
Teacher introspective ~ haughty ~ prickly  Isalus exemplifies pearlcatchers' native mix of pride and anger at being the second and smaller of the Lightweaver's two species. He typically avoids the large lair gatherings that are filled with carousing imperials, preferring the company of other dragons one-on-one. He teaches youngsters basic skills in counting, communicating, and understanding the world. He likes to think of himself as just as tough on his students as Andromeda, but he cares overly about others' opinions. As a result, he is sometimes too easy on his pupils... when he is disappointed in them, he doubts himself. Very very rarely a fierce temper (buried beneath his cultivated air of haughtiness) bursts out. When it does, watch out! Isalus has glow-in-the-dark stars (and a night-light!) in his room. He teaches science ( among other thing) so he pretends that the stars are just so he can study the constellations and keep his memory sharp.. but really they are there for a much more sentimental reason. “Knowledge is no guarantee of good behavior, but ignorance is a virtual guarantee of bad behavior.” ― Martha Nussbaum
