Fireflight has no memories of her parents. As far as she is concerned, Vance is her one and only world. Her earliest memories are of a tiny Coatl placing his paw upon her maw, gently stroking her muzzle. Fireflight had always had the chains upon her body, as far as she was concerned, they were a part of her hide. The tears they caused in her wings, the weight they bore, none of it bothered her anymore. From her young age, Vance had taught her that everything -except for him- was a threat. She never learned to speak properly; actions spoke louder than words. She never saw other dragons aside from the few Vance invited to make "business transactions" with. Those tended to end with Fireflight "escorting" out the prospective client. Sometimes Fireflight wondered, deep in her conscious, if this was all there was to life. At the surface of her conscious, yes, this is all there is and will ever will be. Vance.
