Mirrorlight Scribes roam Lightweaver’s domain, primarily the Sunbeam Ruins, and collect knowledge of the inhabitants. Most take primary interest in Light’s dragon clans and are seen frequently around the Mirrorlight Promenade, where they move amidst the pillars and associated clans. This behaviour earned them their name.

Of the Mirrorlight Scribes who do not focus on dragons, many choose to document fauna and flora. For this purpose Scribes will work with other dragons, primarily of Light and Nature, and may spend days and weeks seeking specific and rare specimens.
It is not uncommon for a Mirrorlight Scribe to travel into other elemental territories, or to even pick a specific clan to chronicle.
Regardless of a Scribe’s chosen method they’ll frequently meet with their peers to discuss, compare, and exchange their gathered information, delighting in these gatherings and meeting with their fellows and any Etherealights that may attend.

Members of this subspecies are most commonly seen at dawn and dusk, preferring the twilight’s effect on their radiant colours. Their natural aversion to darkness sees them retreat to their lairs during the night; during this period they rest and manage the day’s accounts. Those more comfortable with darkness may emerge on bright and clear nights when the moon is at its highest.

Mirrorlight Scribes may be born as one of three variants. The patterning may change, but only after a great deal of time and effort and the vast majority retain that which they were born with throughout their lives.

Lucent are the brightest of the Mirrorlight Scribes; their spectacular markings exhibit a glimmering radiance and seem almost fluid under even the humblest of illumination.

Splendent bear a shine intermediate of the other forms: their wings are likened to gold and bear markings that at first glance seem to shift in sunlight. They boast the most saturated colours.

Lambent are the dullest of the Scribes, the lustre of their wings faded in comparison. Most often born like this, as with the other strains, but others are the result of dulling over time or lack of light exposure.

Mirrorlight Scribes are hesitant breeders. They have a long courtship with a prospective mate and do not produce many clutches; the eggs they do produce they care for with great, if quiet, passion. If an egg has taken ill, they act quickly and seek out sun-touched water. Should the Lightweaver grant their request for aid, it hatches as an Etherealight: healthy, but not entirely normal.

While Mirrorlight Scribes may be born to parents of any element, their characteristic traits present magnitudes stronger if they themselves are of Light; the breed of a Scribe, also, strongly influences their manner of research and recall.

When not roaming or transcribing, Mirrorlight Scribes often seek out warm, sunny and otherwise light-touched spots – often amid ruins and rocks – to bask. They lay out, wings spread, and enter a reverie. This state can persist for hours at a time, occasionally days. It is much the same to them as sleeping and they awaken with renewed vigour. Sometimes, an Etherealight or two may join them, creating quite the sight.
The more frequently a Scribe basks the more lustrous their markings become. Similarly, an individual who has been away from strong light for an extended period will suffer their colouration fade until it is dull tawny brown.
